Luxury vinyl flooring has a layered construction that is five times thicker than the original product. At the top is a transparent melamine wear layer that protects the floor from scratches and scuffs and, on top of that, is a urethane finish that adds extra shine and strength.

We want you to know what you're getting, so understand that true LVF is 8-mm 12-mm. The wear layer has a separate measurement, with 20-mils being the best for heavily trafficked floors. LVF is also wholly waterproof from bottom to top, meaning that it can be submerged or spilled on without consequence.

It is so authentic looking with true-to-life images of wood, stone, and tile that even the flooring experts sometimes have trouble telling it from the real thing. However, you will know because you won't pay nearly the same price as you would for genuine materials.

All photographs are taken with high-definition, clear, vibrant, and accurate. You will see knots, wormholes, grains, swirls, and veining variations; colors and patterns will pop with brilliance, and that's not all because micro beveling and embossing add depth, dimension, and textured features.

That still isn’t enough! This vinyl can be cut into strips and mounted on boards to mimic hardwood; it is called luxury vinyl plank or LVP. It can also be cut into groutable tile-sized squares called luxury vinyl tile or LVT.
